What to expect your first visit…

  • Step 1: We'll Listen

Every new patient exam starts with a simple question, what brings you in to see us? Before we start this is our opportunity to learn a little bit about who you are, what you are experiencing, and what your goals for care are. This is the most important part of what we do here at 417 Performance. Step 1 will set the stage for everything that we do on your personalized treatment plan.

  • Step 2: We Examine

At 417 Performance we are a movement based clinic. To get you your best results, we must first evaluate how you are moving. This will include things like functional movement screens, range of motion evaluations, end range loading tests, and some area specific specialized tests to fully understand the root cause of what you are experiencing. We also use this time to palpate, or feel, for any restrictions in joint movement, muscle tension, and trigger points.

  • Step 3: We make a plan

After we have uncovered the cause of the pain or condition you are experiencing, and we have gone over your goals for care, now we must discuss a plan of action to find the best path for you moving forward. We will also utilize this time to help educate you on your condition and on the treatment options we can utilize to get you where you want to be.

Not every patient is ready for our care at this point, for those who are not at a point where we are able to help, this is when we would discuss how we can help facilitate getting that person in with the correct provider for them.

  • Step 4: We'll get to work!

Once we have established a plan of care we typically will start treatment the very same day. This treatment may include any variety of the services we offer, personally tailored to meet you where you are in your recovery process. Many times we will also assign you some homework, whether that is exercises or stretches, to get you started.

Our goal is always to help you build new tools for your tool belt, so that you have more control of your own recovery process.
